Australia: Visiting Kyneton Saleyard

The weather is wet and it is cool at this uncovered saleyard. There are 800 cattle for sale at Kyneton Saleyard. Our observations are that each animal is fit to sell and transport. They are in good condition. However, the density does we think need to be reduced in some pens given these cattle have been in the pen overnight. The flooring is soft woodchips but due to the rain and age of the chips in some places it requires change. As a result, it appeared that some cattle have not rested. The water troughs are very clean and cattle have been drinking. In relation to the sheep area, the two sheep ramps that are used by hobby farmers require small repairs.
