Animals’ Angels’ market inspections are showing first effects. During our first visit at the market, the animals were yet hit utterly brutal during loading procedures. By now, our team on site reports that most men do not use heavy woodblocks anymore for driving their animals, but light wooden sticks instead and that loading procedures have become much quieter.

This development was preceded by several meetings with the market administration, authorities and market users in which the existing problems were discussed. One problem is the frequent change of drivers and transporters who come to the market from all over the country. Another challenge is to make sure that the market administration intervenes when problems occur even when our team is absent. Besides, the market still lacks infrastructure like suitable ramps and water troughs.
