Australie: Too Many Sheep in Some Pens at Carcar Saleyard

Saleyard Australia

Animals‘ Angels visit the saleyard at Carcoar. There are approximately 9.575 sheep and lambs here today. The facility is under cover so the animals are protected from the heat and cold.

In our view there are too many animals contained in a pen whereby they are unable to move. The Saleyard Standards require that animals have room to stand, room to rise unassisted and room to be inspected, however, we noted many pens where this was not so.

Our report will reflect this issue and hopefully the saleyard management will ensure numbers are reduced.
