Ethiopia: Our Animal Welfare Material is Being Distributed and Translated into Local Languages

Once in Ethiopia, our training materials are distributed by the Ministry of Agriculture. The first recipients are the members of the Animal Welfare Working Group, which includes the veterinary association as well as local and international animal welfare organisations. The group members are pleased that with the help of the flyers, posters and our training video they have tailor-made material to educate about the needs of 'farm' animals in Ethiopia.

As many different languages are spoken in Ethiopia, we are translating our print materials into the local languages Amharic, Afaan Oromo and Somali together with the Ministry of Agriculture.

We would like to thank Dr. Yilkal Kebede, Director of Animal Welfare at the Ministry of Agriculture in Addis Ababa, for his dedication to this project and our great co-operation.
